The Hot Internship Market

AppleTV+ re-edits a show, internships are the new entry-level jobs, and Sinners had a Good Friday

Happy Monday, Future Party. Here’s an Easter fact to blow your mind: about two billion Peeps — the technicolor sugar marshmallow treats that are popular gifts for the holiday — are made each year. That’s enough Peeps to circle the Earth twice. Even crazier is that they’re all made in a factory in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Streaming Can Change A Show’s History

After the popular Apple TV+ sitcom Mythic Quest was canceled, the streaming service allowed the production team to go back and turn its last episode into a proper finaleafter the episode had already aired.

The Big Picture: The new episode of Mythic Quest may be the first time that the season finale of a show has been re-edited to become a series finale after the fact. While that may leave some fans wondering how the episode’s original cliffhanger may have developed, it does provide the satisfaction of closure.

Behind the Scenes: Mythic Quest heads Megan Ganz, David Hornsby, and Rob McElhenney said, “Because endings are hard, with Apple’s blessing, we made one final update to our last episode — so we could say goodbye, instead of just game over.”

  • The last episode of Mythic Quest season four, “Heaven and Hell,” was released on March 26th and ended on a cliffhanger between two main characters.

  • After the season finale aired, Apple decided to cancel the show.

  • But the studio allowed the production to go back and switch out the final shot for another that could serve as a conclusion to the plot thread. It’s unclear if a reshoot was required.

  • The re-edited episode, now labeled as a “Series Finale,” aired on April 18th… while the original version has been totally scrubbed from existence.

New End Credits: It’s unclear how many viewers of Mythic Quest are aware of the episode change… which could complicate the show’s legacy. But for those who find the series in the future, they’ll never know the difference. In the grand scheme of things, that’s likely preferable for creators… and could lead to a future where every show, prematurely canceled or not, gets an ending.

Everybody Wants An Internship

Post-grad // Illustration by Kate Walker

Job platform Glassdoor reports that interest in summer internships is skyrocketing among recent college graduates, as the job market becomes increasingly more complicated.

Why It Hits: As young people struggle to land entry-level positions, they’re turning to internships as a stepping stone toward their desired jobs after graduation. While that’s been true for some time in the most competitive industries, the shift overall means getting an internship may become a prerequisite for a career.

Behind the Resumes: Danny Cao, Glassdoor’s head of internships, has some thoughts on why recent grads are now looking for internships.

  • It shows that the job market has slowed down due to constantly changing economic factors, including tariffs, inflation, and Wall Street’s expectations for ever-larger margins.

  • Few industries have widespread trainee or apprenticeship programs, meaning it’s harder for people — even with Ivy League degrees — to get their foot in the door.

  • Daniel Zhao, lead economist at Glassdoor, told Insider that the internship also signals a “bunching” at the bottom of the career ladder — too much demand for too few jobs.

  • Not helping matters is the fact that companies are also cutting back on their internship programs, which means landing one could soon become just as hard as getting an entry-level job (especially since top internships tend to pay pretty well).

The Future: Glassdoor reports that last year was the most competitive year for internships since 2020… which coincides with the rise of AI taking more entry-level jobs. It’s a constant reminder that succeeding in today’s job market may be all about cultivating connections and community.

The Tiny Hearing Device That Turns Noise Into Crystal-Clear Sound

Most hearing aids use a single processor. These bad boys use two.

Why? Because they process speech and background noise separately — making voices clearer, crisper, and easier to understand than ever before.

The result? Smooth conversations and effortless listening.

And with a design so small it’s practically invisible, it’s no surprise over 425,000 customers are raving.

57.3% of you voted Get a ride in Friday’s poll: When you travel, do you usually drive yourself or get a ride to the airport?

“Given the cost of parking at the airport, and the fact that the nearest shuttle service is farther away than the airport itself, it’s cheaper to just take a taxi or a rideshare. If I can sucker, er, convince a friend to drop me off, all the better!”

“My wife will drive me to or pick me up from any airport, except LAX. If it’s LAX, she’ll pay for my Uber.”

“I hate to inconvenience friends with the uncertainty of an airline’s schedule shifts and delays. There are not a lot of commercial options in my area.”
